help me please!

I own a green iguana that is about 11-12wks old and i need some specifics on taming him, other than just the general (handle him alot) also this is my first iguana or reptile for that matter and he scares me half to death everytime i try to pick him up and he runs away and stops after awhile and then just glares at me? any tips for getting over this fear? If so please e-mail me and i would greatly appreciate it!
