I appreciate everyone's advice I have gotten on how to care for iguanas. But now I am more confused than ever! Things I have read in books, on the internet, and on this forum all contradict each other. For example, I hear alfalpha pellets are bad for iguanas, but on some Iguana Salad recipe I found on the internet it says to use the pellets. Some people say antibiotics are bad, some say they are good. Some say total access to the house for the iguana is fine, some say it is dangerous. Some say they can be potty trained, some say they can't. Some say vitamins are needed, some say vitamins aren't necessary. And on and on....
I read and reread things and I think, "okay, this is the right way to do it for my iguana." Then I'll find some new piece of information that tells me what I am doing is probably hurting my iguana!
Someone posted that there is not a lot of information on how to care for iguanas like there is for cats and dogs, and that is why there are so many conflicting opinions. But it just gets so frustrating because I don't know when I am helping my iguana or hurting my iguana!
Anyone feel the same way?
