<< Anyone feel the same way? >>

yep! i know that feeling exactly!
there are very few things that *everyone* agrees on ... and it IS confusing!

what i did (+ still do!) when i was 1st starting out, is read, read, read, ask loads of questions, and then try + make my own educated choice ...

read + ask *why* ...
*why* ia alfalfa good?
*why* is it bad?
etc, etc, etc with everything ...
and then the bottom line is, you have to decide for yourself ... an experienced ig-vet is an invaluable resource for answers as well ~ if not moreso because s/he *knows* the ig personally ...

even with the people whose opinions + expertise i value, i rarely agree on EVERY single point with any one person ... and you also have to take into consideration that what is right + good for one ig, may be the total opposite for another ...
example: a baby iglet who's growing at a tremendous rate, would probably benefit from the high protein content in alfalfa ~~~
on the other hand, there's iZ, who's over 5yo + done with the massive growth spurts AND he's got rotten kidneys ... protein, even plant protein, is hard on the kidneys and so in iZ's case protein is bad ...

see? there's really not a yes or no, right or wrong answer that you can automatically apply to every ig ... and ALOT of points about ig care are like that ... and it IS confusing! and frustrating at times as well ...

ask questions! READ! read the "newer" things about igs, most likely stuff over 5 yo is going to be a bit outdated cuz we HAVE learned things that we didn't know before ... don't just read one source ~ read as many different things as you can find ... use ALOT of good ol' common sense and THINK ... and if it's *still* confusing, ask more questions ...

do a forum search and look up old posts regarding protein, alfalfa, free roaming, etc ... there's literally TONS of good info in the archives here!

and ...

good luck!
Bon.
