Justin...parsley & yams are foods that should be given sparingly because of the high oxalates/ phosphorus in em. As for hibiscus flowers...alot more phosphorus than calcium...but can be given sparingly as well. The leaves of the hibiscus are loaded with calcium. Its best to buy a started hibiscus bush from any nursery and plant it in a sunny spot..it'll grow like a weed. Prune leaves and flowers as needed. The hospital where I work have tons of hibiscus plants...I do a little free pruning for em on my lunch break at night ;o) once in awhile. The staff think Im nuts, but the igs, torts, turtles, and beardies eat em and I make sure I clean the leaves super good, and I know that the hospital is too cheap to fertilize their plants and don't use any form of pest control so...they're safe to use.I add hib flowers about once a week to their salad just a couple tho. Im not sure if hibiscus can take harsh winters tho so should be covered to help protect it from ice.
