I had two iguanas sent to me. They had been listed as two females, one tame, one a little scared. I put them together in a quarantine tank and ordered a large custom cage for them. The tame one is gorgeous and very friendly, even good with the dogs and my son. The other one turned out to be a VERY MEAN MALE and I found him a home. But before he left, I did not realize that he was starving Sweet Pea. She was not getting a basking site and she was not getting much food, some but not much.
She now is alone and eating great. But the spines on her back are dry and brittle and still drooping. I give her a bath every other day in the tub (I let her free roam now during the day and give her a quick bath before she goes out into the house). She also has two gallons of fresh water in her enclosure.
She gets plenty of greens and fruits which have lots of moisture in them. She is getting her strength back and is incredibly strong and her tail and back legs are nice a fat again.
It is just that her spines are not coming back. Is this good or bad?
Thanks.
