Igmomma...ummm do I want to go here? lol Well...I think Melissa is mistaken..(ducking the lightning bolt striking me dead!!) and let me explain...lol First she compares citric fruit and tomatoes....wrong...cuz citrus fruits ARE alkaline and tomatoes ARE acidic....cooks use lemon juice to reduce the acidity of tomatoes especially those home canners! Citrus juice is NOT "irritating" to stomach ...alkaline nuetralizes acid (inc hydrocholic i.e. anti-acids). Then she goes on to say that iguanas didn't evolve eating citrus and therefore it should be given on a limited basis...can someone tell me what foods we give our igs that they evolved eating?? Ive heard of them eating and destroying banana plantations in the wild....so any others besides bananas? Collards? lol. The fact that iguanas have been surviving in captivity without foods "they evolved" with makes her case a moot point.
Now can someone get this lightning bolt off my cranium! lol
