Okay...so we are at the vet and the vet asks if I give her protein. I fumble around and make noises about plant protein and say that I'd been told that alfalfa pellets or powder was a good way to up the protein in the diet. He says he's NEVER heard of using alfalfa for protein for an iguana. *sigh* This dr. is top notch no question about it so this made me confused...yet again!! Asked him what he'd suggest and he told me to make up some beans and brown rice for her or use tofu.
She LOVES rice anyway and now I understand why she goes crazy when I make Sarah (dtr) and me red beans & rice LOL LOL LOL
What was my question? Oh yeah. If there are those of you out here in ig forum land who use tofu, how much? How often? I did ask which beans were best and he told me pretty much any bean as long as it's cooked :o) Same question....how much, how often PLUS any recommendation on bean? Recommend squishing to keep from becoming impaction problem?
If you would like to remain anonymous (*understanding grin*), you may e-mail your answers to me at:
mailto:iguanamomma@hotmail.com
Or my family address if you already have it. Don't be offended folks but I don't like putting that one out for the world to see because it is accessible by the whole family.
Thanks for any help or suggestions!
Glenda
(next will be the poop story LOL & a short recap of ?'s I'd been meaning to ask the vet)
