They may be easy to use, but they can be toxic to some snakes (possibly all snakes over time?). I have seen it almost kill some species of rat snakes (even when used correctly) and have heard of it actually killing other species.
I used to use them, until I nearly killed a couple of snakes (using them correctly I might add!).
I use Black Knight Roach Spray. It is expensive, but it works so well that one can could last you for ever.
I did some research on the internet and found that this was the spray that was sprayed on millions of travellers every year entering Australia as a method of fumigating incoming flights. When your plane arrived, they would walk down the aisles while you sat there spraying Black Knight, one can in each hand, over the whole plane. Obviously before this was done, extensive toxicity studies were done. So I trust the stuff more than other sprays.
I have sprayed it directly into my snake cages with the snakes in them and have had no problems. I have sprayed it on snakes in bags with no problem.
Once you use it, you will wonder why you didn't use it before. One thorough treatment kills all mites for good.
