How's about telling us the full history of your "Green Snake" to include: Full Common Name of the snake, Scientific Name of this snake, size, age, how acquired (pet shop, breeder, dealer, importer, etc...), status when acquired (captive bred, captive born, wild caught), if wild caught then where was it captured, health status when purchased or caught, exact conditions under which it is being kept (such as tanks size, temperatures, how many hideboxes, what type of heater other cage mates, cage furnishings, substrate, etc...), describe the problem in depth (was it feeding and stopped or did it just never eat while you have had it, are there any other synptoms off ill health), how long have you had it.
If you have answers to these questions, it would be much more likely for someone here to give you definitive answers to your questions.
Do you realize that if this is any species of North American Green Snake, it may need to brumate - especially if temperatures and lighting supplied by you are not optimal - and if if such are optimal the snake may be in a natural cycle and ready to brumate. The problem with this would be that from your brief description, it sounds as if this snake would quite possibly not survive brumation.
Now that I have gotten that stuff out of the way, allow me to say, that, and this is a just in case:
I just love a good troll! However I am the curious type, so I hope you will enlighten me as to exactly what the humane option, you write of, would be?
Best regards and good luck,
