First thing you should do before getting ANY type of snake, is DO your homework, get a copy of Basic Care of Rough Green Snakes, by Philippe de Vosjoli, small paper back found in most pet stores that sell reptiles, or on Ebay, under pet supplies.
I too am curious as to what you mean by doing the "humane" thing? If it's what I think it is, you have no business owning a snake in the first place. Please reply... Doc
