Question about food...Babyfood okay?

Everytime I turn around, Oscar is getting Coccidia and hookworms...I've tried crix from various places. For the last month or so, I fed her veggies and giant mealworms exclusively. Again, she stopped eating and is loaded w/ coccidia and hookworms. My question is this: Do BDs HAVE to have worms and/or crickets? Can they not get their protein in another form such as chicken babyfood, which, by the way, she loves. Just curious.
