Well, i've switched my beardies to eating mostly pellets. They do get greens and occasional can o crickets. It didn't really inhibit the length of the bearides in my opinion, but it has taken them longer to pick up weight. Maybe since can o crickets are cooked in the can it would kill an bugs on them. If you were looking for him to make big weight jumps with this sort of feeding, it really won't happen. Maybe if you fed him a lot of can o crickets and used the pellets to supplement, then when he was at a good weight you could reverse it and give more pellets. I just must say that this could be expensive to feed lots of can o crickets. I think the cans have 200 or 300 in them. I counted as my 12 inch beardie ate today, and he took 41, and had had pellets today. One of my bigger dragons who was around 16 inches at the time ate half a can one day. They do make other canned bugs like mealworms and grasshoppers. The beardies really seem to love the crickets once they get a taste of them, but I don't know about the others.
