I tried using chicken baby food mixed with squash for one of my beardie because he wasn't eating. It's definitely not the same as feeding them crickets. He didn't gain weight at all, his poop was runny so I started to puree crickets for him, you could see the difference almost right away. He gained weight and was much more alert. I would say baby food is not a good staple food.
:Everytime I turn around, Oscar is getting Coccidia and hookworms...I've tried crix from various places. For the last month or so, I fed her veggies and giant mealworms exclusively. Again, she stopped eating and is loaded w/ coccidia and hookworms. My question is this: Do BDs HAVE to have worms and/or crickets? Can they not get their protein in another form such as chicken babyfood, which, by the way, she loves. Just curious.
:Thanks, Jo aka Oscar's Mom
