I have 14 hatchling alterna this year. This is only my second year at breeding them. Last year I ended up force feeding my 5 little hatchling alterna once or twice and then hibernating them for the winter. When spring came, I got one to eat scented mice,and then unscented. I got one to eat scented mice and then I sold it. The other 3 were sold before they fed on scented mice. My question is this.... I have gone to Dan Johnsons website and noticed that about 80% of his alterna that he hatched this season were already feeding on scented pinks. So far out of my 14 this season, I have 2 that have taken scented pinks. Obviously, there must be some tricks besides the old standbys. Are there any particular lizards that seem to work the majority of the time when scenting. Dan Johnsons site shows that most of his pinks that were accepted were scented with Cophosaurus. Any hints would be helpful. I have tried the paper bag thing and also washing the pinks before scenting them. What else can I do short of feeding them lizards or force/tube feeding them?
