I have been under the impression that when rattlers are collected for round-ups are often "gassed out" or otherwise brutalized and ill by the time they reach the roundups. Therefore the theory that they are returned after the roundups to there original capture site is pointless... but I digress... If they are not in the healthiest of shape when the happy roundup folk skin em and eat em- wouldn't you have to have a food license to serve anything to the public? And if we are so freaky about cows and chickens and pesticides and chemicals used to fatten them up- how in the hell could these rattlesnakes - captured and contained presumably without a health inspector present- end up as food for the public? Do they have rattler farms I don't know about? No, wait, you could make more money selling live CB rattlers than selling them for food... Shannon :)
