ive never heard of that taking place in such little time.
a zoo-med basking bulb isnt going to do anything for the softshell,you need a zoo-med uvb bulb.
the calcium you feed your turtle wont do any good unless its getting vit.d3,from a uvb bulb or from sun.
any old bulb that says it has uv wont cut it either,zoo-med 5.0 is supposedly the best(its what i use) and i sugest it,unless you live in a place thats still sunny everyonce in awhile(i live in southern CA and its sunny about hlf of the time still).
i really dont understand though how mbd has set in so quickly...how long has he been indoors?
