I believe that part of the proper husbandry of any pet is to create an enviroment that is indigenous to the one where their ancestors came from. Last time I checked, tortoises usually don't get locked in a box to travel in a vehicle for the heck of it. I have had to transport much bigger G. Sulcata tortoises, and they seem to hate it. I may be guessing here, but that probably causes undo stress to that animal.
I would bet that this gal, Niki would go on to say that her tortoise likes "car rides", and that they snuggle up at bedtime. I think that is idiotic.
