This is the most wonderful news!!!!!! Although I have yet to experience this with my current sulcatas, This scenario did happen to me when I was a child with my adventurous box turtle. The solution was to construct a "tortoise-proof" fence that could absolutely not be escaped from. Of course, when it came time to let Bart go free, he enjoyed very much his chosen nature preserve. Now, I would never keep a box. But other breeds of pet tortoises are imbedded with a sense of wanderlust that is shared only by beagles and will escape from anywhere they have a chance to!
Good luck making your enclosures tort-proof and enjoy your reunion. I am so curious about his "song." Does he really sing, just when he's soaked? Is it a pleasure thing? what does it sound like? Wish you could post a sound-wave file. . .
