: Unfortunately, mine were already approximately 1 meter long when I got them. They were at that time they were just at six or seven months. They really grow fast! I would guess that on a good consistant diet four feet plus would not be uncommon. My male seemed to grow faster than my female. She got long, but stayed a little on the thin side. It's just been in the last couple of months she began putting on enough serious weight for me to consider breeding. My pair is a little under six feet now at 20.5 months. I have them housed in seperate enclosures that I got in Germany. The enclosures measure 1 meter long, 50 cm tall, 50 cm high. They are solid glass, with sliding fronts and mosquito strips on top and the front for air circulation. As far as climbing, mine don't climb very often at all. They prefer to stay under their drift wood or in thier hide during the day and at night they cruise their cage always looking for food. I believe because of the cage size, this provided alot of excersize and avoided a fat, lazy delima. Mine also soak rather frequently. It is a must that water be changed daily as they will deficate in thier water bowl alot. If not in the water bowl, guaranteed next to it. I think in the best set up for these here in the states would be a 55 gallon with a Terra Top or larger. Hope this helps. Please feel free to email me if I can be of more help.

: Respectfully,
: Jarrett

: I posted a Q about maximum sizes before. Now I'm asking how long yours grew in the first year specifically. Also, I still need info on recommended cage size and dimensions. I thought of building something kinda squarish, so that a lot of the usable space could be arboreal. I understand they love to climb. Do you think this is a good idea?

Hi I just wanted to add to this. I have a male Taiwanese Beauty. He is about 7 weeks old & 19 inches long. He loves to climb. I have a plastic branch in the cage that he is constantly crawling on. He also goes up around the rim of the cage & crawls all around it. Everything I have read says that beauties will usually grow to be around 9 feet long when fully mature. I am adding the link to Zeus' website so you can see how beautiful he is:-)
Hugs
Kim
