: My gorgeous male Blue Beauty passed on yesterday. The post mortem revealed that he died of a burst gall bladder.
: Can anyone advise how this may have happened & how long he could've survived with it (he stopped eating 2 mths ago)
I'm doubtful of the diagnosis because the gall bladder starts leaking almost immediately after death.
If the diagnosis is correct, I'd expect some necrosis of the liver and surrounding organs (more than just staining). Was the snake captive born or wild caught and imported? Were any worm parasites in the area?
I've opened dead snakes, but I am not a vet. I probably can't help much, unfortunately. 8-( If nobody else here can help, you might try the health forum. Good luck.
