Steve,
thanks for the sympathy. The poor little mite was only 5 mths old. He had been eating fine then stopped. As that was the beginning of november I thought he was getting ready to brumate so I wasn't worried at first. I only got concerned because he was still active.
I've got a female (his sister) & I haven't fed her for a month as I trying to get her to brumate as well. I light of what happened I'm now trying to get her to feed but she's a bit stressed out at the moment as she escaped yesterday. I put her in a container to take her to the vet to get checked out & as soon as I turned my back she popped the lid. As I had to take the male to the vet for the post mortem, I taped up the door to keep her in the room & when I got back she was well & truly stuck to the tape ! The vet peeled her off ok & the only damage seems to be to her dignity.
Yes I am interested in another male & possibly a female, as well as my female has a crooked neck from lying in the egg, which made the males death all the more of a shock as we thought that if one of them was to go it would be her.
