I'm sorry, but I feel that Gerry's post is totally inappropriate. I certainly do not condone the use of any type of hate speech, but I do believe that everyone has the right to express themselves, especially in the light of such an unprecedented event. Gerry, I'm like you in that I read this forum often, but rarely post. However, I'll admit that I don't know the people that post on this forum, and I think that you would find that you don't either. It is not your place to dictate where people decide to express their feelings.
Perhaps the people that posted the messages that offend you feel most comfortable talking about the events of the last few days in this very forum, which is certainly their right. True, this type of speech does not pertain to ratsnakes, but in times such as these, people should be allowed to
express themselves in an arena in which they feel unthreatened and comfortable. I'm sure that as time goes on, this forum will return to a strictly ratsnake discussion
which I value for the advice I've gleaned from these good people with regards to my subocs. However, to go online and threaten people as you did represents the same sort of reactionary attitude that led to the situation that we see today. Intolerance for others beliefs and thoughts only leads to more and more disdain and hatred. Again, I agree
with you that hate speech should not be tolerated, but a wholesale ban on anyone who wishes to discuss things other that ratsnakes is just plain wrong.
So please, mourn in your way, but not take yoyr emotions out on the good people of this forum.
