Now don't yell but...
I'm in the UK and don't understand the fuss re: pricing of coxi. Surely this is the same with any species which comes into the hobby.(If there are reasons why I am wrong, then please tell me what they are - this is an honest query...)
Initially, only a few people are breeding them and they're like gold dust - then as more of their babies are sold to people who breed these the number of available CB snakes increases. This will inevitably reduce the cost of the snakes. I can recall when Brazilian Rainbows were £1000 in England, whereas now you can pick them up for £150. This is the same with many other species.
Coxi are wonderful looking animals and who wouldn't want them - so obviously the market will increase, and why should they be the preserve of those with the money to buy them? I'd be more worried about people selling them to guys without the know how to keep them well, rather than the price they paid.
Another point is that at current prices anyone who has them is looking to make money from them - they don't have to be mercenary, it's a hell of an investment not to then capitalise on it, surely? If no-one has tried to buy your stock at $3000 dollars a pair, a dealer is bound to lower his price in order to sell his stock. This is basic economics, and while this is still a hobby - and let's hope it remains so - economic factors will always apply same as anywhere else...
Anyway - these are just my thoughts and if there is a reason why they don't apply in this case then set me straight...
