Yeah I still don't see why you're trying to argue for price fixing. When you say people get these animals because they love them, that's not completely true, the main reason is investment. Why would someone care if they are going to lose all of this money if the "love the animals" so much, the only reason to go that far out on a limb in purchasing that quantity of such expensive animals is purely profit driven. I love hyenas but you don't see me wanting to spend how many thousands of dollars to aquire them and keep them in my care, I know how much I'm willing to spend on animals, maybe these people should think about this too. The only way to make the highest returns on your investments in a capitalist economy is to either do it fast, better, in greater quantity than the competition. When you share important info on the work you do with rare species you level out the playing field, and hurt yourself and help others. In the long run it helps the animals most importantly and the hobby as a whole, but it hurts the people who take the time to figure out these processes.

Chris
: : I don't even have, breed or work with coxi. They could fall to $10 each and I still wouldn't keep them. For that matter I don't even think they're Elaphe so I'm going to stay as far away from them as I have the snake with the goofy growths on their noses.

: : The price on coxi however shouldn't be dropping. I get the point about production, supply and demand. I can even understand how the whole thing works. Although Jim has a better point seeing that there is almost no production of the coxi. In the US people are just in too much of a rush to sell any and everything. They can't wait a whole day let alone a week.

: : God, or whomever you believe in has stopped production on new snakes. This means sooner or later ever snake out there is going to come down to the price it is worth. Hard to breed animals or small clutch animals like the situla will always hold their price while others will come down to $50 or $100 like everything else in the hobby.

: : As for the guy in Vegas, I'm not sure you thought before you spoke. Gave me the idea that you were saying, who care about how much the next guys loses as long as I made my money. Many people get these animals because they love them but they can't afford to pay the price and not make their money back.

: : Can you spare a little change,
: : Adam Block

: The minute you sell your animals it's business plain and simple. It's also not fair. If many people can't afford these wonderful animals too bad. I'd like that new 25 Parker with all the latest electronics but I'll have to settle for used. Maybe as sellers we don't always think about the consequences of our actions. Same goes for buyers. It sounds great to watch out for each others backs but ultimately we are concerned with getting our own house in order. How many of you that shop at Costco or Home Depot are really and truly concerned about the mom and pop stores that are going out of business. Ever do a favor for a friend? Hang some cabinets, sheetrock a room, put in a drop ceiling. Maybe you did it for lunch and a few beers. Some contractor maybe lost a few hundred dollars or more because you were willing to help out a friend. Should you feel guilty.

: I've seen so called sportfisherman on the east coast scream holy hell when the tuna quota has been filled and they're not allowed to market their catch. What happened to the sport.

: Maybe the time has come that supply is outpacing demand. New peope are creating their own frankenstein morphs, and with your help. With just a click of the mouse all that info is there for you. What do I get if I cross x and y and breed it back to z. People can't wait to get on line and show off their latest creations.

: I agree with Jim when it comes to purchasing animals and I'll have them shipped via Delta even if it costs more than the animal, but if for any reason I have to sell below the going rate I won't feel guilty about it because nobody is paying my bills. I'm not saying to hell with Adam or Jim but it is my business and nobody can tell me how to run it. It could very well backfire in the end but so be it. If I choose to sell It's just business.

: By the way Jim Nice bass. Adam, I'll need help with a marketing strategy for eastern kings. With any luck I'll be over run and demand seems low. Click
