Greetings,
What a great site ! I'm glad I stumbled upon it....I live in Northeastern Georgia ( Snellville ) and we have a rodent problem - specifically, they are enjoying life in the suspended ceiling of my home office. I have tried Havahart traps ( they aren't interested ) , as well as the more unpleasant traps/ glueboards, with limited success. Would it make sense for me to purchase a rat snake or a corn snake to use as an on site rat manager ? First priority would be a good environment for the snake - we live on a five acre lake, with plenty of wildlife and woods...if there were an adequate supply of rodents would the snake remain nearby? Is it too late in the year to do this ( hibernation ) ? Where could I get the proper type of snake, and is it even posssible ? Obviously I'm not terribly well educated on this subject,so I'd appreciate any and all guidance....The idea came from my cousin, who tells the story of watching what he thought was a rat snake travel up into my aunt's attic from outside, and not long afterwards the rodent population seemed to dissappear...fact or fiction ?
Thanks in advance,
Bill Kelly
