Do you know of any way to measure an animal's reproductive success other than by how many viable and reproductive offspring it has? And in captivity, yes, how many offspring the snake has is a direct result of "how many people stick them together in a cage". This is captivity. It ain't the wild. When all of the needs of an animal are provided by a person, that animal's reproductive success is also going to be determined by that person.
