: Can his eating problem also have something to do with the mite problem???
Yes many snakes that are infested with mites get stressed from them and refuse to eat. It is also thought that mites can and do carry some diseases but the only one I know of only infects boids
Can mites kill a snake in the long run???
Yes from malnutrition and stress.
I have had lots of luck getting rid of mites by soaking the infested snakes in luke warm water and wiping them with a wash cloth daily and sterilizing the snakes cage before returning the snake to it. after about 2 weeks this should get rid of the mites.
good luck
Eric
