disinfecting the cage

I've sealed the cage with tape and plastic bags and I've put a vapona box inside. I can't seem to find the strips here. The boxes spread the same gass, dichloorvos, that's what it's called here anyway.
I'll keep it closed for about two weeks and then will I ventilate it very well for a day or so. That should do the cage trick I hope. And yes, I have cleaned the cage very well at first.
Do you have any other tips for disinfecting the cage??
