Elaphe carinata, or Chinese king ratsnake, or keeled rat...

What do we know about these? I know they're Asian rats, I know they get big, and I know what they look like. Plus, I have a field guide from Singapore that lists them as a differnt genus,and that they grow to 4 meters! There is a little bit more info on them in the guide, but I am more interested at this point in other keeper's experiences with these snakes.
I had a dark one recently that was about eight feet in length, and was pretty ugly. However, he was a pretty cool snake, and I loved the shear size. Pictures I've seen of these show much prettier snakes than the one I had, and I would be interested in finding any carinata for sale, or at least talking to others who have had maybe fond experience with this species.
If anyone knows anything at all that could help me, let me know.
