: just wondering, those of you who have hatched gonyosoma, how did you do it and how long did it take? i have a clutch of eggs about 60 days old incubating on 1:1 vermiculite at 84 degrees. recently lost one obviously fertile egg. wondering if they're too hot and should i drop temp to 82? also, i was anticipating 70-80 day incubation, but saw in one (quasi-reliable) book 3-4 months! which is more realistic. while we're on the topic, anyone have luck with a technique to get babies feeding?
: thanks

I have hatched out two clutches from cb adults both clutches began to hatch out after 100 days at 28C(82F), this appears to be normal for this species. All hatched out normally. I did open eggs within two days of the initial pipping. All hatchling still "hatched out" themselves, ignoring the openings I made! Feeding is easy to induce by teasing. They like to hit and run, ie grab the pinky and run off with it. I have noted you need to stop them before they eat. I will hold the snake in one hand and let it run into a deep storage box, where it will come to rest and then eat. I will then normally follow on. (See my article in The Reptilian mag(UK)
What did you use to trigger mating. I can get eggs from my female but cannot induce mating!!
Cheers Mark
