i can't say for sure what triggered my breeding, because i changes so many things, but the pair was never separated. i bought them from a breeder who had them for awhile and could only get slugs. so, when i took them, i changed all the husbandry causing them to breed and drop fertile eggs for the first time. i moved them from a 2-foot cube to a 4'x 2.5'x 2.5' (LxWxH) cage. they were kept with ambient temps in the mid to upper 80's and never much below 80 at night. my cage had an ambient day temp around 80 with a basking spot in the low 90's; nightime temps were low to mid 70's. their humidity was probably 40-50%, i boosted it to 80% and rained on them 2x/day. the other significant change i made was putting lots of UV-B lighting in their cage. i feel that being arboreal & diurnal, they have UV needs. also, i have seen a baby with what appeared to be metabolic bone disease.
i believe the decrease in temperature along with the humidity/raining boost caused the successful breeding, but am inclined to think UV played a role. anyone else using UV-B sources on their gonyos?
