TC,
I know a little about triaspis from my time spent collecting in Arizona. I live in California but get out to AZ a couple times a year. I have 2.2 that I have collected over the past couple of years. They are a ver y difficult animal to work with as they are prone to having parasites. I have been watching the weather and Arizona has had one of its driest winters ever. This affects the animals in a significant way. As it begins to heat up the ground and plants have less water and dry out very quickly and animals dont move as much. Triaspis habits are relatively unknown and I only know what I have observed in them. The are active during the summer rains. This coincides with the availabilty of water. People have found them in spring but as you would expect they are usually young animals. If you have any more questions I would love to hear them.
Have you ever observed triaspis in the wild?
