I was just watching the show cops, and they had a scene with a 5-6 foot black rat snake on the outside of a histerical persons house. The cops came, maced it, wacked it in the head with their club, and then beat it a few more times and threw it in the trash. It was discusting, and i'm wondering if this is standard practice in law enforcement and snake removal. I don't live in an area that has many snakes, so no such thing ever comes up. But, come on, they killed this probably at least 4 year old snake like a coackroach. There should be some kind of proper control and removal system and/or laws to protect them.
