If it isn't specifically against the law, there is no violation if if something is "wrong." What I'm saying is that many state governments do NOY consider snakes "animals." Therefore, cruelty to animals does not apply, in those states, to many members of the kingdom Animalia unless they are mammals. (This is why dog fighting is illegal under animal cruelty laws but chicken fighting IS legal under those same laws in many areas.)
I have NOT seen this show, and I refuse to make any judgements because I haven't seen it for myself. However, the idea that snakes are protected under the laws of many states is a big joke. Many areas don't have laws to protect them individually - just on the population level. This is good and bad......as are most laws.
Personally, if it is as described, I'm glad I didn't see it. Legal or illegal, it wouldn't matter. I'd be pretyy PO'ed just for seeing it. When that type of stuff does happen (and it will no matter what laws are out there), it shouldn't be shown in a manner to make the idiots doing it look like a "hero." Again, I ain't making of judgement over what did happen - I didn't see it, remember - only what my probable thoughts would be if it did happen as described.
Thank goodness I gave up TV years ago so I don't have to watch that puckey. Refuse to be brainwashed my the National Media: stop watching television!!!!!!
