A typical hatchling length is about 14in. while an adult would reach about 8-9ft thereabouts.
To say that it took only a few months to reach half its adult size is a bit too difficult to swallow. I could believe if you said 12 months but anything less must be some sort of record.

: Yes that's how my pair behave as well, the remind me of racers and coachwhips in this way. They are constrictors however, but yet they are as gracful as the racers. Like a middle behavior between the two groups. Wait till you see how fast the snake grows even on a regular feeding regimen. I had one go from 14 inches to 4.5 feet in just a few months time, at first she was eating every 5 to seven days, then I changed it to every seven to 10 days, now she eats every 10 to 14 days ans is still growing like a weed. reminds me of a reticulated pythons growth pattern. Even the 4.5 one is fast and still like a torpedo out she comes. I just picked up a neonate male at the Hamburg show. I love these snakes.
