I remember Easterns at $15 and nobody believed La Pines existed anymore!! Also remember catching Everglades Rats by driving along the road, sitting on the hood of the car and SPOTTING them in the big cypress trees!! We could catch dozens in a day if we wanted too!! Ahh, the older we get, the better things were....
: : I doubt if it will ever come down for several reasons. One, indigos consume alot of food, so breeders will have to charge more for them to pay this cost. Also, since they are protected, you will always have the permitting red tape which will discourage alot of people from working with them. They also are not consistent producers and only average about five or six eggs. I have been keeping snakes now for nearly forty years and I always find it amusing when I read some of the posts. I purchased my first indigo in 1963 from Ross Allen for $5.00! Some people refer to the Black Pine snakes as the poor mans indigo....back in 1963 Black Pines sold for $500.00! My how things have changed. :>)
