Hi Guys;
My male eastern 'Tango' just went through a shed which came off in pieces as opposed to the usual intact shed. Had him out playing with him tonight for awhile & noticed a white thing hanging out of his eye. Guess where it shows up so good against a black snake I friggin near freaked, they don't look nearly as bad on a Corn.
Anyway I moisted my thumb, sorta rubbed around his eye a little till a small shed of skin came out then I veeeeeeerrrry carefully removed it, it came off like a contact lens. My question is ; Is this common in Indigos? Did I do the right thing removing it as opposed to letting it come off on it's own? And ;How can I prevent this type of shed from happening again??
As a lot of you know I'm fairly new to Indigos so bear with all my questions ;-) I LOVE this breed of snake I can understand why people are so excited when they get one.
I also learned tonight you should not feed your Koi while sporting an Indigo around your neck, I didn't realize it until Tango lunged after my 12 inch Koi when he surfaced to feed & almost caught it too. Won't be letting THAT happen again. LOL
These guys keep you on your toes I tell ya.
Anyway any comments on the eyecap issue are more than welcome.
Thanx
Dean
