Dean,

I used to have pair of indigos and this was common for them. I live in Spokane WA. where the humidity is generally lower than it is in the south where these snakes naturally reside. I always assumed that this was the reason for it being a common problem with them. Sometimes I'd remove them if it was easy but more often I'd just monitor the cap and make sure it wasn't being invaded by pests and it would always come off with the next shed.
