First of all, that's not a stinkpot, it's a three stripe mud turtle, and a very cute one at that. Muds have shallow water requirements, so if you keep him please be aware of that. Also, I encourage you to release him back where you got him. It's really not good for a wild caught turtle to be kept in captivity, he may never really start to eat food or do well, could always be very skittish. Also, it's bad for the environment, he will grow up to be a member of the breeding community. It'd be a lot cooler if you released him back exactly where you got him.
