I've used trout chow (although I thought it was purina?) and nasco's turtle brittle.

trout chow: I thought it was a huge boon to buy 25 lbs of food at once for cheap. That was a mistake. I never got through a fraction of it before I found that I had either not sealed up my bins of it properly, or they had already contained weevils. What a waste (although not really, cause it is so cheap). It was extremely oily, which was kind of annoying when using it indoors if you aren't using a feeding bin. Using a bin I just rinsed off the guys afterwards so they wouldn't carry as much oil on them back to the tank. In the pond it doesn't effect much it seems, besides which, I tended to feed little bits at a time and watch to see it was eaten before adding more.

Turtle brittle: More reasonable amounts. I got what I think was about ten pounds at one time. I sealed it the same way in bins, it never got weevils. I used it all. Not as oily as trout chow, turtles loved it. Comparably priced to the amount of trout chow I was able to use before the rest went bad. Some of the pieces can sink, but it seems only very few do.
