I wouldn't mind some sinking for my little musk. He's a trip, being the smallest turtle I have I just put some pvc in the tank that only he can get into. Well, he has quickly leanred to go in there when he gets a worm so the others can't steal it from him.

::MOST of the individual little pieces floated, but a few sank from every handful I would use. Someone here posted that it seemed most of their sank. I've gone through two big bags of it and not noticed more than an occasional piece sinking, though. Of course, in a tank, that few pieces (if you feed in the tank) can be nasty fast, or it becomes fish food if you have fish, or bottom feeder food for those muds/musks.
