In Reply to: No...and I wouldn't use a fish tank to house ATBs at all. posted by AnthonyCaponetto on December 13, 2002 at 13:08:25:
I like fish tanks for my high humidity herps....piece of glass or plexi over half the top works fine for me. I'm a fan of the "spray more" method. I would rather have the air-flow. Plus it's a pain in the arse to get arboreal cages in Canada.
Or you can turn the cage on it's side (not with a 55!), that way the condensation builds on the top of the tank, instead of evaporating.
I really hate to house snakes together....to expensive to risk....
:ATBs require higher humidity, so a screen top will not work for you unless you have acrylic cut to fit securely over the screen...which will help hold in the humidity.
:By the time you buy the tank and have the acryllic cut, you'll be spending more money than it's worth. I'd try to get a plastic arboreal cage of some sort.
:I would also not house two ATBs (or any snakes) together if you can avoid it. There's a myriad of reasons for this.
::im probly getting a 55 gallon tank for xmas.
::is it ok to keep 2 amzon tree boas together (male & female) in it. or will they kill each other or fight or something. or should i go like 2 30 gallons.
