Possible to sex 4-5" sulcata?!

I want to start breeding. I have a line on VERY good deals w/ a new tortoise however I can't tell if it is a m or f. Is there any way to make it happen? I have heard you can take it to a vet but that is $$$ and would defeat the purpose.
