Evidently I missed this taxon change, however, appreciate the update!
: Black Whip Snake...while general usage is not a great name....due to variance in colour...some are black...see photo in Rick Shine's Australian Snakes - Natural History, then look at a pic in Mirtschin's Book.
I read somewhere the common names lesser and greater Black Whip Snakes, not sure which reference, appeared to be two different species?. By the way, which Mirtschin's book? I only have Dangerous Snakes of Australia by Mirtschin. Curious???

: While not recorded in Demansia vestigiata rapid colour change has also been reported on the genus.
