Despite my best efforts I lost the turtle this morning.

She was rallying again and responding to the Nolvasan treatment but unfortunately was so depleted that I was not able to build her up enough. I guess in her condition (no body reserve at all) and not eating for five days was too much for her body to stand.

I feel bad but at the same time I feel good that her last few weeks were spent in a clean comfortable tank recieving treatment for her wounds and fungus and not dying in a petshop in a filthy tank with a bunch of hardshell turtles clawing and crushing her.

I am very happy with my healthy Flyriver turtle and have no intention of buying any other softies BUT I am now a man on a mission. I have left her tank up and running and I will be looking out for any and all softies out there in need of help. It is really a shame that these animals have to suffer because these chain petshops and the ignorance and/or lack of concern of their employees. Thanks to all on this forum for you advice and I am sure you have not heard the last of me.

Steve
