I want to thank you for taking the time (and money) to try and save her! We need more people like you, that's for sure. Too many people overlook these wonderful creatures and it's a shame too.I don't think pet shops will ever care about the well being of their animals, they are out for the all mighty dollar and they don't care about life, which to me, no amount of money will ever equel the value of a life.
: Despite my best efforts I lost the turtle this morning.
: She was rallying again and responding to the Nolvasan treatment but unfortunately was so depleted that I was not able to build her up enough. I guess in her condition (no body reserve at all) and not eating for five days was too much for her body to stand.
: I feel bad but at the same time I feel good that her last few weeks were spent in a clean comfortable tank recieving treatment for her wounds and fungus and not dying in a petshop in a filthy tank with a bunch of hardshell turtles clawing and crushing her.
: I am very happy with my healthy Flyriver turtle and have no intention of buying any other softies BUT I am now a man on a mission. I have left her tank up and running and I will be looking out for any and all softies out there in need of help. It is really a shame that these animals have to suffer because these chain petshops and the ignorance and/or lack of concern of their employees. Thanks to all on this forum for you advice and I am sure you have not heard the last of me.
