TO CLEAN, OR NOT TO CLEAN

Hey folks,

now that I have your attention, I would like your opinion on another topic - cleaners.

You see, there are a variety of different cage disinfectants. ("Fluker's" makes one, and "Zoo-Med" makes one, and "Big Apple Herp" makes one, etc...).

But my question pertains to the "end-results".

Are these "special" disinfectants needed to properly clean a cage, or can you use "Lysol"...or even rubbing alcohol diluted with water??

And while on the topic, what about hand cleaners? (The same type that are recommended for use after handling your lil buddies). Can we use the supermarket "bargain brand," or are the "reptile-specific ones" needed to properly kill all pathogens?

Thanks for your opinions!!!!!

In Christ: Raymond
