Hi,
I am having trouble getting my cage up to the right temps. For some reason my room(which is on the far end of the house) is only in the low 70s during the day and mid-high 60s at night. I want to give yoshi( my 6 month old GT) about at 69-83 F range, but i've not been able to do that with the heat panel i bought(dragon lair heat mat, 6"x11" 7 watts). It's attached to one side of the back of the tank. I think my problem is that i have a 1/2 inch cork bark backround, which i think is insulating the mat, however, it looks really nice, so i'd like to find some way to get the heat to penetrate it.
Should i try something with more wattage? I was thinking maybe big apple's Flexible Heat Rope( 25 Watt 4.3 Meters 12. 9 Feet) Do you think that would do the trick if i looped it and attached it to the back of the cage? if not, what would?
Thanks,
Brandon
