Turtles are picky eaters!

I have two RES's whom Ive had about 2 years, and I just tried feeding them fish for the first time. I gave them a dozen, and they ate half of them. The other 6 or 7 fish have been in there almost over a week! They arent eating the fish, so Im giving them pellets, but the fish are trying to eat the pellets like an inch away from my turtles mouths (but they gobble up the pellets with no hesitation)! These turtles don't like eating greens, either.

Have I any hope of feeding these guys something other than pellets, and why are my turtles letting the feeder fish feel right at home?
