New, Just got my First RES.

I just got my first Res yesterday.he is a little under 4" probably about 3.5. I was wondering if they get used to there owners, now it kinda swims away when i come to feed it and whenever i get near the tank.should i ever pull it out to kinda enjoy its company or would it not like that and prefer to be left in the tank to swim.i am getting a bit wordy so i will end my fist post now.
